You made it! After several months of grueling tests, mountains of homework and the stress of making sure the kids passed all their classes, summer has finally arrived. They deserve some fun time with the family as a reward, and thankfully Milwaukee doesn’t have any shortage of exciting activities!
Here are a few fun things to do to help you and your family celebrate the end of the school year appropriately. At Roman Electric our first goal is to make sure our neighbors are happy throughout the year, and that goes beyond just providing excellent HVAC, plumbing and electrical service!
Take a Trip to Old World Wisconsin
This slice from the past is just a short drive from Milwaukee, and the trip to Eagle is all you’ll need to feel like you’ve been transported to a long-gone part of Wisconsin’s history. At Old World Wisconsin you’ll do fun things like:
- Taking a ride on a 19th-century tricycle
- Immersing yourself in the life of old, visiting places like the local blacksmith and general store
- Getting your hands dirty by helping out with chores on the farm, like chopping wood or lending a hand with dinner
- And so much more!
Tickets are available online here. A child’s ticket is $13, and an adult ticket is $20.
Visit the Riveredge Nature Center
We’re lucky to have an abundance of natural exhibits all around us in Milwaukee, and that includes the Riveredge Nature Center. While it’s open six days a week, year-round, Riveredge also hosts events and programs throughout the year to help Milwaukee residents gain more interest in the world around them.
And on Saturday, May 25, you and your family can hop on over to take part in the latest Wild Animal Finders event! For a few hours, you and your kids will learn all about turtles — first by meeting an Ornate Box Turtle at the Nature Center, then by trekking around the grounds to hopefully meet a wild one yourself!
Tickets are $7 for non-members and $5 for Trail Pass Members, but admission is free for All-Access Members.

On May 25, Discovery World is putting on an event aimed at helping Milwaukee residents gain a greater appreciation for our beloved Great Lakes.
